Welcome!
I have been a San Diego sports fan all my life. I plan to use my personal experiences and background knowledge to follow up on how loyal Chargers fans have fared 10 years after Measure C failed to pass. I will provide content from my frequent trips to SoFi Stadium. My love for the Chargers will be pushed aside as I look to seek the facts and evidence of this story. I hope you all will enjoy!
We Are Tired and It’s Different This Time
Published November 2, 2026
As I continue navigating my story on Los Angeles Chargers fans, especially those of us who stuck with the team after its relocation from San Diego, one thing has become more obvious than ever. This fan base is tired. Not just frustrated about another failure of a season, but genuinely exhausted with the direction of the franchise. As a lifelong Chargers fan myself, I’ve watched the frustration build over the years, but something about this season feels different. Looking through social media posts, fan discussions and reactions to the team’s 0-7 start, I’ve noticed just how angry and desperate we have become for change at the top. I’ve seen plenty of disappointing seasons and angry reactions from Chargers fans over the years, but the conversations now seem to be filled with more exhaustion than hope. What surprises me most is that despite everything we’ve been through, from heartbreaking losses to the relocation from San Diego, so many of us continue to stick around and support this team.
What has stood out to me most throughout this process is that the frustration goes well beyond what happens on the football field. We’re not just calling for better roster building or another coaching change. More and more fans are questioning the ownership and whether anything will actually change as long as the Spanos family remains in control and continues to allow John Spanos as the President of Football Operations. As someone who grew up rooting for this team in San Diego and continued supporting them after the move to Los Angeles, I understand the frustration firsthand. We’ve spent years hearing about fresh starts, new coaches and promising seasons, only to find ourselves having the same conversations again. It’s interesting to see how much anger is coming from those of us who stayed loyal even after the team left our city nearly a decade ago. While working on this story, I’ve started to wonder what it is that keeps us coming back every season. Is it loyalty, hope or simply the fact that we’ve invested too much into this team to walk away? Whatever the answer is, one thing seems clear. Chargers fans are running out of patience, and many of us are desperate to see something finally change. And that call for change appears to be pointing at those in the owners suite.
